The Derby<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This is a fun Saturday event for the entire family and is part of BC’s Free Family Fishing Weekend so, provinical fishing licenses are not required.\u00a0 This is a perfect time to gather the family for fishing fun and community celebration.\u00a0 The boat launches will be open, or you can fish from the shore.\u00a0 Be sure to leave time to browse around Main Beach as there will be activities and displays too!<\/p>

By entering the Derby, you’ll be helping to control the population of Pikeminnow, a resident predator of juvenile Sockeye salmon.\u00a0 Also detrimental to native species in the lake and surrounding watershed are Smallmouth Bass and Pumpkinseed Sunfish, both illegally introduced species.<\/p>

  • Derby Registration and Weigh-in at Main Beach, Cultus Lake, BC<\/li>
  • Targeted species are Pikeminnow, Smallmouth Bass and Pumpkinseed Sunfish.\u00a0 Please follow all BC sport fishing regulations!<\/li>
  • Derby runs Dawn to 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026.\u00a0 Same day registration opens at 5:00 am, Main Beach<\/li>
  • Fish weigh-in starts at 12:00 noon and ends at 2:00 pm sharp.<\/li>
  • There will be free parking for “Registered Anglers” who arrive at the lot before 9:00 am.\u00a0 If someone leaves and comes back after 9:00, they must pay.<\/li>
  • Derby Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids (age 15 and under).<\/li>
  • Tickets are available at Fred’s Custom Tackle in Abbotsford and Chilliwack,\u00a0 until June 19th.\u00a0 After that you can get them at the Main Beach on June 20th starting at 5:00 am, or from any Lions Club Members<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
